Good Evening, Race Report fans. Firstly, and most crucially, a huge congratulations to all who took part in yesterday’s first Chiltern League match of the season. Chiltern Harriers AC came away with the overall win on the day. Look out for Steve Perkin’s report for a full download of the day’s excitement. In parkrun news, there were first placed finishes for Ali Young (23.10 at Church Mead) and Sylvia Moss (22.59 at South Oxhey, also a course PB) yesterday. Also earning course PBs were Shaun Fry (19.42 in Hastings) and Claire Dickinson (30.09 at Church Mead), and Patrick Ahern was rewarded with an all-time PB at Rickmansworth (20.09). Moving on to today, Chiltern Harriers were well-represented at the Oxford Half, lead in by Neil Walker (1.28.14). Joining Neil were: Adam Finch (1.49.18); Jennifer Webb (1.52.29); Lyndsey Bill (1.56.25 - a half marathon PB); and Robert Barnswell (2.53.18). Meanwhile, Ed Wright was in action down in glorious Pompey at the Great South Run (having competed at the Chiltern League the day before!) Ed finished the 10-mile route in 1.16.29. Finally, at the Frieth Hilly 10k Mike ‘Tiny’ Turney was first V50 in 43.23, joined by Daniel Buckingham in 48.33. Well done all! COMING UP LOCALLY: the Abingdon Marathon, Last Friday of the Month 5k, the Fleet 10k, the Marlow Half & 7 and the second Chiltern League match of the season. Check out the Club Calendar for more.
