Good Evening, Race Report fans. It seems odd to say it after all this time, but the Spring Marathons are back! And my goodness are they back. Huge congratulations to Mike ‘Tiny’ Turney for a brilliant PB at today’s Manchester Marathon, in a time of 2.52.02. He was joined by Ali Young in 3.07.31 and John Walker in 5.34.48. Truly brilliant running. Well done! Meanwhile, down here in the ‘soft’ South Finola Watkins was also rewarded with a big PB of 41.39 - and a 1st placed finish - in the first of the Regent’s Park Summer 10k Series; and, whilst official results are still pending, our lovely Amber Stubbings clocked a 2.48.21 (strava time) in the Reading Half.
Moving on to yesterday’s parkrun results, I can say that this Race Reporter can do nothing but simply stand in ovation at Maddie Hughes’ result at Rickmansworth: 2nd overall, and 1st female in a PB time of 17.34! And Maddie was in good company, with Louise Fry coming home 1st in Wycombe (19.00), and Kate Loach at Cassiobury Park (22.32). There were also course PBs at Rickmansworth - Ian Lawson (19.02), Sylvia Moss (21.20), and Caroline Stephens (23.13) - and at Maidenhead - Neil Turner (18.21). Spectacular results all round! COMING UP LOCALLY: Flitwick 10k, White Horse Half Marathon, Maidenhead East 10, Beaconsfield 5 and the Last Friday of the Month 5k. Check out the Club Calendar for details of these events and more. AND DON’T FORGET to check details of senior training for the next month here. Comments are closed.
