Happy New Year, Race Report fans. I hope that 2024 sees good times for you, your friends and family as well as lots of running ambitions fulfilled. A huge well done to all who took part in today’s county cross-country championships. Look out for Steve P’s report in the coming days. This week the racing results all come from yesterday, Saturday 6 Jan. There were plenty of all-time parkrun PBs at Rickmansworth: William Shield (16.44); Felix Danielli (18.38); and Neil Walker (19.05). Meanwhile, at Cassiobury Park, Ash Finch raced in to a joint first placed finish in a course PB time of 16.34. Finally, Alan Crozier and Sylvia Moss both earned themselves course PBs at a muddy Church Mead (23.01 and 26.09, respectively). Rik Edwards and Annelize Colquhoun braved the 43 mile point to point ultra marathon Country to Capital. Starting at the Shoulder of Mutton Pub in Wendover, and finishing in Little Venice in London, the route takes in the mud of the Chiltern Link as well as the gruelling miles of the Grand Union towpath. Annelize and Rik both had brilliant runs, coming home in 7.47.42 and 9.39.34, respectively. Millie Hughes was also in the big smoke for the Battersea Park Half Marathon, which she completed in a very credible 1.48.13. Well done, everyone! And finally, some news for the New Year: I wanted to share some changes which Chiltern Harriers will be making to its club internal communications. These changes reflect the results of the survey which was completed last year. Thank you for your assistance with that exercise. The reason for making these changes is to improve consistency of communications by streamlining the number of channels which the Club uses; to increase transparency of the channels being used and to reduce the burden on volunteers of maintaining many, disparate channels. The changes being made are as follows:
