Good evening, Race Report fans! It really felt like Spring sprung today. And for this Race Reporter, it could not do so a moment too soon. I hope you managed to enjoy some pleasant time outside this weekend. We’ll start things with parkrun. Congratulations to former Harrier, and first lady home at Wycombe yesterday, Louise Fry on her 100th parkrun, in an awesome time of 19.30. It was a good day for first-placed finishes with Ali Young and Ian Lawson also claiming victories at Rickmansworth and South Oxhey in 19.07 and 20.20, respectively. There were course PBs for Jay Grigson (25.10) and Victoria Lucas (27.37) at Macclesfield and Wycombe Rye, and an all-time PB for Fiona Kelleher - 20.50 at Rickmansworth. Well done everyone! Grant Whitaker was the only Harrier to take on the 16 mile, mudfest that is the Ashridge Boundary Run this year, clocking a fab time of 2.36.00.7. Also on the muddy scale, it was great to see a number of Harriers out today at the 27th running of the Hardwick X-Stream. Yours truly was delighted with a 3rd placed finish in 42.54, joined swiftly by Katie Royals (45.26), Neil Bates (49.35), Glen Martin (51.43), Helen Cholawo, David Saul, and former Harrier Mike Worsfold (51.31, representing Reading Roadrunners). Those times are all Strava times, hence please forgive incompleteness. Thank you to Mike Strive, who was official timekeeper (and unofficial Chiltern Cheerleader!) :-) In non-muddy news, Barbara Ralph was 2nd FV65 at the Fleet Half Marathon - her first race since the 2021 London Marathon. She completed the event in 1.54.22. Well done, Barbara! Comments are closed.
