Good Evening, Race Report fans. I hope you have enjoyed a thoroughly nice weekend. Before we get into this weekend’s racing, a look back to last weekend when Tessa and Duncan Passey, alongside Ben Martin took part in the Ultra Trail Snowdonia by UTMB. While unfortunately Ben had to withdraw, Tessa and Duncan completed the gruelling-sounding event in a time of 12.34.15. Well done (and this reporter has certainly now got some ideas in her head…)! Cath Holloway and Paul McCarthy were in action on the trails today, Sunday 21 May, albeit in the somewhat tamer surroundings of the Chilterns and a hot and hilly Ridge Off Roader half marathon. Paul came home in 2.00.22, Cath in 2.14.39. In 5k news, Tom Dixon was victorious at the Somerdale Pavilion parkrun yesterday, 20 May, coming home in an all-time PB time of 17.29. Ali Young was also a first placed finisher in Sizewell in 22.20. Finally, there were course PBs for James Malin and Ella Watson at Church Mead (24.08 and 28.28), as well as for Nigel Dickinson at Black Park (26.14). However, as the evening drew in Harriers flocked to London. For Harriet Lemon that was in order to complete the infamous Moon Walk - the 26.2 miles of the London Marathon route completed walking, at night, in aid of the Breast Cancer Charity. According to Strava, Harriet completed the walk in a swift 6hrs12. Meanwhile, Richard Slade and Aran Davidson were in action in the ‘Night of the 10,000m PBs’: Aran clocked a flying 33.24, while Richard came away with a 30.28 (a negative split and a PB). Both are strava times. Moving to something different again, Hannah Wardley was the overall female winner at the Southport Sprint Triathlon event, in a time of 1.08.49, and kicking the season off in style. And finally, in a land down under Ed Wright completed the Sydney Half Marathon, finishing in a brilliant 1.35.41. Well done, everyone!
