More great Chiltern performances on the track at the end of a busy month
England Athletics U23 Championships Harry Cox did well to qualify for the EA U23 Champs 800m at Bedford on the 19th following his excellent 1.49.79 at Watford recently. In a straight final, a tactical affair went through the bell in a slow 58 seconds. A fast second lap saw Harry finish a creditable sixth in 1.53.78. Southern Athletics League Richard Slade, Ian Lawson and Alicia Bushell went to Abingdon to take part in the Southern Athletics League on the 20th for the Chiltern/Aylesbury composite team. Ian tackled 800m and 1500m and scored PBs of 2.25.80 and 4.56.12. Alicia ran a season’s best of 5.10.01 in 1500m and Richard scored a PB of 15.42.27 in 5000m. BMC Eltham On Wednesday 23rd U20 Angus Williams and U17 Oakley Denson made the trip to south east London for the British Milers Club Regional meeting, both coming away with PBs. Angus was seventh in the 1500m A race in 4.00.53 a narrow PB – surely sub 4 is achievable. Oakley was fifth in the 800m B race in a strong new best of 1.58.39. Loughborough Open Also on the 23rd Loughborough student Emily Alderson (U20) ran 1500m at her local open, a couple of seconds off her season’s best with 5.12.34. Herts ESAA Schools Cup At the Herts Schools Cup match at Watford on the 23rd, Issa Phillips-Pope ran 13.20 in Junior Boys 100m, Matthew Evans ran 4.39.1 in Inter Boys 1500m, Jemma Thomson ran 12.8 in 100m and jumped 4.49m in long jump in Inter Girls, and Emily Ford ran a strong 1500m in Junior Girls 1500m in 5.09.9. BMC Trafford Adam Day won the 800m C race at a BMC Gold Standard at Trafford on Tuesday 29th with 1.54.40. Comments are closed.
