It was great to be back at a Watford Wednesday open after a hiatus of two years. Chiltern athletes were involved in 200m, 1500m and 3000m races and there were several great performances in still, mild conditions. 200m U13 Ellie Danner looked strong in race 1 to be second in a PB of 29.59. U13 Felix Danielli was eighth in race 3 in 29.40. 1500m Race 1 In a race where all ten athletes ran PBs U15 Olivia Clarke ran 5.19.38 and U13 Marlie Nkoane 5.22.37. Race 2 U17 Hannah Ashby had her first race of the season and looked good in running a PB of 5.11.80. Race 3 U13 Tom Ford ran away from the field and logged a very impressive PB of 4.52.68 to put him the national top 30. Tom’s sister Emily (U15) also ran well to log a big PB of 5.02.30. U17 Ellie Shield was outside her best with 5.23.01. Race 4 U15s Frankie Baxter and Lesedi Nkoane both had their best 1500m runs of the season running 4.53.47 and 4.58.13 respectively. Race 5 U15 Max Baxter ran strongly to be third in a PB of 4.44.70 but fellow U15 Callum Powell was a few seconds outside his PB with 5.02.56. Race 9 U23 Seb Mills last ran 1500m in 2016 so his PB was in need of revision. A well paced race saw Seb second in a new best of 4.18.21. Race 10 U20 Louis Peterson had a great run to be seventh in a PB of 4.11.75. Race 12 U20 Max McGarvie had a solid run to log 4.06.06. Race 13 U23 Cameron Reid ran another sub-4 race with 3.59.67, a couple of seconds outside his recently set best. 3000m All four athletes scored good PBs in the two races, Sammy Bennetts second in race 1 with 9.38.92. Also in race 1 U15 Daniel Munn ran well for 10.05.78 and Senior woman Hannah Wardley a massive PB of 10.22.83. In race 2 U23 Richard Slade was always in the front pack and ended up second in a great time of 8.40.15. Comments are closed.
