South Bucks had another good day in match 2 of the YDL Upper Age Group at a sunny Brighton on Sunday. The team finished a solid third with many great performances, personal bests and athletes trying new events. U20 Men
Devonte Johnson looked after 100m (11.8) and 200m (24.6) and Rai Lenoire had a good run to win A string 400m in a swift 50.2. Thomas Askey won B string in 53.5. John Nickless was second in A string 800m and Thomas was second in B string. Matt Evans ran 4.18.0 to be second in 1500m. Andrew Partridge and Leo Selcon Park scored very useful points in the throws. Leo won A string hammer and was fifth in A string shot and second in B string discus. Andrew won A string javelin and B string hammer, third in A string discus, second in B string shot. Devonte was joined by U17s Issa Phillips-Pope, Sam Attia and Daniel Cogan to be fifth in 4 x 100m relay. The 4 x 400m quartet of Andrew Partridge, Rai Lenoire, John Nickless and Thomas Askey took a great win in 3.36.6 U17 Men Sam Attia and Issa Phillips-Pope looked after sprints with Issa running a good PB of 25.8 in 200m. Isaac Jessop-Tranter was third in both A string 400m and 800m. The 1500m saw a win for Archie Pinder in A string with Daniel Cogan third in B string. Leon Doran ran a PB of 9.06.3 to win 3000m. Euan Pinder made his steeplechase debut with a good win in 4.31.7 but at female barrier heights. Sam Attia and Euan Pinder looked after long jump and Euan scored a PB of 1.50m in high jump. Daniel Cogan helped out in triple jump. George Moody tackled A string shot and hammer, Archie A string discus, and Leon and Archie scored good points in javelin, second in A and B string respectively. The 4 x 400m team of Euan, Archie Leon and Isaac ran very well to log a big win in 3.40.4. U20 Women Anya Morzaria was second in A string 100m in an impressive 12.8. Christina Paulsen and Elizabeth Nickless ran 200m and Tilly Firth and Emma Caddell looked after 800m. Ivy Uhart was third in A string 1500m. Olivia Brown won 1500m steeplechase in 5.14.5. Emma helped out in discus. The 4 x 100m team of Christina, Tilly, Ivy and Anya was fourth as was the 4 x 400m team of Tilly, Emma, Olivia and Lyla Griffin. U17 Women As at match 1, the U17 women were the most complete team and scored well throughout. Olivia Edwards and Lailah Pope ran the sprints. Charlotte Hewson and Jo Snelling ran 300m and Alice Peckham (PB of 2.30.6) and Charlotte scored good points in 800m. There was a double win in 1500m for Allegra Massey (4.53.5) and Jocelyn Davies. Florence Lee-Rubis ran a PB of 13.3 to be third in 80m hurdles with Aoife McCauley third in B string. Ffion Harman was second in 300m hurdles, Jo Snelling winning the B string. Frankie Baxter won 1500m steeplechase. Florence was second in long jump and third in high jump backed up by Charlotte and Jocelyn. Aoife and Melody Ball looked after shot, Lyla and Ivy discus, Lyla and Melody hammer and Aoife and Melody javelin (Aoife was second in A string and Melody won B string). The 4 x 100m team of Olivia, Lailah, Aoife and Florence was third, the 4 x 300m team of Jo, Jocelyn, Alice and Frankie was fourth. The next match is nearer home at Hemel Hempstead on June 25th.
